Lake Calumet Area Treasure Map

The Lake Calumet area is situated between the Illinois Heritage Corridor and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The map shows the proposed corridors which would make up the park lands. Below that, a detailed map of the land surrounding Lake Calumet shows the wealth of natural resources threatened by inappropriate development and pollution. Only four of the sites shown on the map are protected areas.
Areas marked with an asterisk(*) are threatened. The size of each area and the owners are indicated where known.
