Network Scripting Upgrade

for Dial-Up LincolnNet Users

Windows NT 4.0

System requirements

Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3

Make sure you have Service Pack 3 installed before attempting this upgrade. You can check to see if you are running Service Pack 3 during the boot up sequence. The first line during the blue screen (while booting) show say if you are running SP3.

Step 1 - Downloading the LincolnNet Login Script file

1. Connect to the LincolnNet server and open your web browser.

2. Go to http://www.lincolnnet.net/about/dun.html and download the LincolnNet Login Script File. Save in the C:\winnt\system32\ras directory.

Step 2 - Configuring your Connection

1. Open My Computer

2. Open Dial-up Networking

3. Click on the More button and select "Edit entry and modem properties"

4. Select the "Script" tab

5. Click on "Run this Script"

6. Select the LincolnNet file from the pull-down list

7. Select the "Security" tab

8. Click the "Unsave Password" button and click the Ok button.

When you are ready click the "Dial" button. When the logon screen comes up (the very first thing), enter your username and password (do not fill out the "domain" field) and click the Ok button. At this point the process is completely automated. You should see the terminal screen come up, but do not type anything here, the script will type in the correct values automatically.
