Tigger finds a home!

A new kitten just joined our family. We asked our Dad if we could have a pet, but he always said "NO!" Much to our surprise, the last time we asked him, he said "Yes."

Our new pet's name is Tigger. He is a seven week old kitten. He is gray, white, and black. Getting Tigger brought us many new responsibilities. We now have the new chore of taking care of him so he'll be healthy and happy.

One of the most important things we have to do is feed him. We have to remember when we fed him last and make sure we don't miss any of his meals. We feed him three times per day. Right now, he eats Purina Kitty Chow because he is so little. We also give him kitty treats. Tigger also needs fresh water every day.

Our kitty was already trained to use the litter box when we bought him so we didn't have to train him. That was a big relief! Another thing that we have to do is to groom him by brushing his fur and keeping his eyes and ears clean. He doesn't like that very much!

The best thing about Tigger is that he is very playful and soft. We named him "Tigger" because he looks like a tiger, and he pounces and jumps around just like Winnie the Pooh's friend. He loves attention and he jumps on our laps all the time. Sometimes with this playfullness, he ends up scratching us. We will probably be getting his front paws de-clawed soon so our legs won't suffer so much.

If you are thinking about getting a kitten, you're in for alot of fun, but also alot of responsibility! If you take care of your pet, it will be a happy pet and that will make you happy, too! As Tigger would say, TTFN (Ta Ta For Now!)
