Othello's Jealousy
by Justin (age 15)

DRAMATIC READING

    Jealousy is the downfall of every man
    no matter how strong a spirit

    It consumes the rational mind

    and controls the actions of even the steadfast

    I know now I face an impossible task

    for now, even now jealousy presuades my thoughts

    I now must decide whether or not

    trust and love are as one.

    My love now tells me she is honest

    yet my friend tells me she is not

    By Iago's tongue I will take her life;

    by my love's I will surely take his

    Would I first love and trust my friend

    or place my love and trust within her care?

    My friend I have known for years, and her but months

    but I now ask myself, does time strengthen trust?

    Clouds cover the once beautiful sky;

    the world is cloaked in its sins

    I know now where I go when I leave this world

    for I have murdered my love
