Having responsibility is really great, except when you abuse it. You need to ask your parents no matter if you think the sites are safe and nothing can happen to you. When you do something on the Net you can really hurt yourself. You most likely won't be hurting others at the time and it may seem cool to think you can go on whenever you want, but it can really get dangerous. That's what I have to say and I will stick by my own opinon.

I think you should ask your parents to check over the site that you want to get in. If you are not sure about computers, you and your parents should check everything. Don't act inappropriately on the web.If you are not comfortable about the site, ask your parents. Do not, I repeat, do not give out personal information about your self. Keep your behavior PG.

I think that the most important thing is to let parents or teachers know when you are going on the Internet.

I think the Internet needs to have more safety features.

I think that the most important rule on the web is that you have supervision by a parent or a teacher.

You should NEVER EVER type personal information or go places where you know you shouldn't go.

One important thing is to not type in capital letters unless you are shouting at someone. Shouting may be offensive to other people.

I think it is extremly important to be careful with what you get in to on the net. It is also important to talk to your parents before you log on.

Remember, if someone wants to know something personal about you, they are not your friend.

I think there's a backlash --- I mean that the dangers have been blown out of proportion by the media the same way they do whenever there's a big airplane crash (lots of people get scared to fly even though it's safer to fly than drive). Most kids I k now are still safer inside their homes than out in the streets. You got to see the pluses and minuses and be smart enough to stay safe.

Thank you for addressing the issue of safety on the net. As a parent and educator, I am very concerned about our children as they become known on the WWW with their productions and creations. Please continue to keep us educated on this issue.

Being the mother of four kids, the issues related to safety on the Internet are of critical importance to me. I work on the Web every day as LincolnNet webmaster, so I am very much aware of both the positives and negatives of the WWW. With proper education and supervision, I think that the Web is a wonderful place for children to learn and grow. I'm looking forward to this forum as a place where we can share our ideas and concerns, and can learn from each other!
