Using Netscape's Download Page
You may also download Netscape by accessing the Netscape Download Page.
Using WS_FTP to Download Netscape
- Connect to LincolnNet (See "Connecting to LincolnNet" on the Setting up Windows PPP to Connect to LincolnNet page.)
- Run WS_FTP either by double-clicking the "ws_ftp" icon on the desktop or by doing the following:

- Click the "Ok" button. The WS-FTP program will connect you to Netscape's FTP site. The WS_FTP window is split into two parts.
- The left side represents the local computer (your computer). At this point, you should decide in which directory you plan to download Netscape so that you will be able to locate it later.
- The right side represents the remote site, in this case Netscape's computer. Look in the "Remote Site" address box. A '/' should appear. Double-click the pub folder in the selection box below.
- Double-click the communicator folder.
- Double-click the english folder.
- Double-click the 4.72 folder.

- Double-click the Windows_95_or_NT folder.

- Double-click base_install.
- Double-click cb32e472.exe. This is the Netscape browser program. Download and read all .message and README.txt files. These will help you correctly install your Netscape program file. Remember to note the name of the file and directory in which you are downloading it so that you can find the file when it's time to install.
- When the file transfer is complete, click the "Close" button.
- Click "Exit" to exit WS_FTP.
- If you wish to install Netscape now, do not disconnect from LinconNet. Otherwise, disconnect by clicking the "Disconnect" button in the Connect to LINCOLN window.
