Training Class Descriptions
View descriptions of LincolnNet's new training courses. Classes will begin in July, 1999.


    Due to some restaffing issues, we are suspending all training classes for the time being. Check back often for more information.

    LincolnNet has recently partnered with Governor State University's technical staff to create a small group training center. We will be offering four classes: Internet Navigation, Advanced Web Design, and Graphic Design.

    Date and Times

    Dates for the listed classes are posted on the sign-up form. All of the classes are one day sessions. They are held from 9am to 4pm in the OTS Building training room on the Governors State University campus.

    Internet Navigation Learn the basic of getting around the web and using the internet as a tool. Taught by a rotating group of trainers, you receive broad experience in almost every aspect of the web. Topics include: navigating web sites, using search engines, the power of email, an understanding of HTML. Prerequisites: none.
    Web Design Learn how to create a website. You will learn HTML using code (no editors). Learn how to create tables, links, place images, java applets and how to write interactive forms. Prerequisites: none.
    Advanced Web Design Learn advanced layout and design techniques. Taught by Tom Liska, designer and webmaster of the LincolnNet home page, you will learn Dynamic HTML, JavaScript, Flash 3, CGI programming and much more. Prerequisites: Web Design.
    Graphic Design Learn how to create custom graphics and graphic effects. Taught by Tom Liska, designer and webmaster of the LincolnNet home page, you will learn basic animation techniques, image layering, transparency, lighting effects and color blending. Taught using Paint Shop Pro 5.0. Prerequisites: Web Design.
