The impact of the Lincoln Networks can be seen in the framework and amount of information on the website. The young people involved in the Coolidge School project (www.lincolnnet.net/coolidge/contest.html) and in CyberSight (www.lincolnnet.net/cybersight) have been impacted greatly. Some of these young people will go on to shine in the web arena. There have also been many small stories along the way, like Ms. Snow who was so grateful because she found information about her great grandfather through the Glenwood School for Boys, which she found on the LincolnNet. Or the attorney from Will County who, during a meeting also attended by Lincoln director Larry McClellan, heard the LincolnNet mentioned and said, "Oh, the LincolnNet…I use it all the time when I need to find information about the south suburbs." Or the pride of the University Park Public Library, which has prominently posted "3rd Place Winner of the LincolnNet Website of the Year!" on their website. Or the dozens of health and human services agencies that are beginning to see an answer to their information and referral dilemmas. Or of PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) director Mike Wasserberg’s excitement at the notion of using the Lincoln InfoLine as a way for homeless people to receive messages from prospective employers. The list goes on and on.

The impact of the Lincoln Networks has been significant because people in our region are truly beginning to see information technology as tools that can have a positive impact on their professional and personal lives.
