On Friday, October 24, 1997, more than 60 individuals representing south
metro municipalities, school, and library districts met at Governors State
University for a Regional Telecommunications Briefing.
Participants were given current information related to the
Telecommunications Act of 1996, E-Rate Applications, and Universal Service
Support by Arthur Bresnahan of Skadden and Arps; Beth Ruyle from the South
Suburban Mayors and Managers Association; and Suzanne Prescott from the
South Metropolitan Regional Leadership Center.
