- January 17, 1999: Pastor Michael Heggen (fourth from left) installed as Pastor of Hope Lutheran.

- January 31, 1960: The first school building (now Multipurpose Building "B") was dedicated.

- April 4, 1955: Hope celebrated the confirmation of its first four students.

- April 5, 1953: Worship services were moved from Lakewood School to Sauk Trail School.

- May 9, 1952: Reverend Luther W. Bekemeier accepted the call as Mission Developer in Park Forest.

- July 20, 1952: Hope Lutheran's first worship service was held.

- September 8, 1959: Hope's parochial school opened with 47 students in Kindergarten and 44 in Grades 1 through 4.

- September 13, 1954: Hope's first Kindergarten class opened with 18 students.

- October 7, 1967: Hope's current sanctuary was dedicated.

- October 24, 1980: Hope's first house of worship (now Bethel Chapel and the office area) was dedicated.

- December 14, 1952: Hope's first congregational Christmas party was held at St. Paul's School Hall in Chicago Heights.

- December 24, 1952: Hope's first Children's Christmas Service was held at Lakewood School. The bulletin for the preceding Sunday invited the congregation
to participate as the children presented "the Christmas message in pageant and song".
