City of Chicago Heights

Economic Development Opportunities

The City of Chicago Heights is a community committed to economic development. For more than 100 years, Chicago Heights has encouraged development and expansion of commercial and industrial enterprise.

Today, Mayor Angelo A. Ciambrone's administration is committed to ensuring that the City's economic environment fosters business growth and prosperity.

Chicago Heights offers a number of attractive incentives that help create healthy businesses. New as well as established businesses reap the benefits of the City's status as an Illinois Enterprise Zone Program community. Our City has four Tax Increment Finance Districts open to commercial, office and industrial development. Tax abatements and Industrial Revenue Bonds also are economic tools the City can utilize to assist development.

The City's Economic Development Department, headed by City Planner Joseph Christofanelli, will provide professional assistance, from site selection to tailoring financial incentives, to business interests both large or small.
