The Crete Lions Club is proud of its long and distinguished record of service to the community.  It began more than 53 years ago during World War II as a means to aid the war effort and is the oldest recycling program in the state of Illinois.  The staff from the time they started the recycle program, has collected, sorted and compacted 23,856,382 pounds of material.
Volunteer Hours:   1,167 hours have been utilized processing and collecting recyclable material since January, 1997.
Revenues: Approximately 98% of all recycling revenues and 100% of all other Crete Lions fund-raisers have been distributed back into the community and other Lion endeavors.
