Applicants must successfully pass a written, physical agility and oral examination. As a condition of employment, the applicant must successfully pass a psychological and medical examination. After appointment, candidate must complete and pass, prior to the termination of the probationary period, a certified 400 hour basic police academy course and complete the required training to become a certified, State of Illinois, Paramedic. Applicants who successfully complete all phases of the selection process and are appointed to the Police Department must live within a fifteen (15) mile radius of the Flossmoor Village Hall.
At present the Village has an Elligiblity List of 16 candidates that will remain in effect until August 6, 1997, at which time the Village may decide to hold another testing process. If you are interested at that time, we advertise vacancies in the local newspapers and notify area and statewide colleges. We will also advise you of vacancies on our Homepage.
