Residents of the Village have experienced one of the lowest Crime Rates in the south suburbs for over 20 years. The police department works diligently with its residents to make the community a safer environment to live and raise a family.
The police department works hand-in-hand with the community. Some of the community based programs are neighborhood watch, home security inventory, property maintenance enforcement, D.A.R.E. program, accident prevention, crime prevention and high school police liaison programs. In addition, you may just meet one of our officers walking and checking various commercial establishments throughout the Village, finding out ways we may enhance our services to the business owners and residents alike.
The department consists of 17 full time police officers, 14 auxiliary police officers, 5 full time radio dispatchers, 7 part time dispatchers and 2 ordinance enforcement officers. Three of the police officers are paramedics and part of the emergency medical services for the Village.
