Matteson is a very vibrant community, proud of its rich heritage,
excited about its recent growth and development, and eagerly looking
forward to the challenges of the 21st century.
The residents of Olympia Fields take great pride in
welcoming you to learn more about their community located just 25 miles
south of the Chicago Loop. The President and Board of Trustees hope that
you find this community a wonderful place to live and raise your family.
Are you looking for the best value, the best service,
the most amenities? You'll find it in Park Forest. Since 1949, when it
was hailed as one of the nation's first totally planned model communities,
Park Forest has been looking ahead, anticipating -- not just meeting -- the
diverse needs of its residents.
Incorporated in 1926, the Village of Richton Park has
managed to maintain its quaint, village atmosphere, in spite of rapid growth,
for better than half a century. Richton Park remained a relatively small bedroom
community for most of its existence, until the suburban boom in the Chicago area
reached the south suburbs in the late 1960's and early 1970's. At that time the
village population went from under 1,000 to nearly 10,000. A second growth wave
is now taking place and is predicted to put the village population around 15,000
at the turn of the century.
The Village of University Park was founded in 1967 as a planned community.
In 1984, the Village changed its name from Park Forest South to University
Park to more accurately reflect the link to Governors State University and
its Industrial Park. Residents are proud of their community and dedicated to
the maintenance of its intrinsic values.
