BE A VOLUNTEER AND MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
Civil Preparedness
Civil Preparedness is readiness on the part of local government and civilian population to meet any emergency.
Your local Civil Preparedness Coordinator- working with the Mayor, Village Manager, Board of Trustees or other local chief executives, has primary responsibility for the public safety.
The Richton Park Coordinator along with the local Coordinators, coordinates planning for the best use of community resources-people, facilities, equipment, systems, supplies-as needed in an emergency.
In 1975, the State of Illinois passed the Illinois Emergency Services and Disaster Agency Act , which replaced the Illinois Civil Defense Act of 1951.
They are people just like you, donating their time and working together to aid and assist the community in which they live. Some are able to put to use their hobbies and others learn from the various courses that are offered to the members.

How do I become a volunteer?
You may have read something that interests you, or perhaps you would just like to be with a group of active people doing something to aid their fellow man.
You must be 21 year of age to join. Our regular meetings are every Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. at the Richton Park EOC/Fire Station No. 1, Richton Square Road and Sauk Trail. Phone 748-3090
