ESDA's members are Mokena area residents, 100% volunteers, willing to donate our time to maintain Mokena's state of emergency preparedness, respond 24 hours a day/seven days a week to back up our police and fire departments when requested, provide mutual aid to other communities in their times of disaster, and give traffic and crowd assistance at pre-planned public events.

Many of us are trained in Search and Rescue (SAR), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Awareness, Severe Weather Spotting, Basic First Aid, medical First Response, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.), flood pump-outs, emergency traffic control, emergency driving, emergency scene lighting, and emergency communications.

We are tradespersons, business owners, managers, technicians, fire fighters, police officers, white and blue-collar workers, students, single, married, young and middle aged.
