District Information:
District Chicago is one of 21 State Police districts within Illinois. The district encompasses all of Cook County and has over 300 sworn officers assigned to a variety of duties. The district is responsible for patrolling seven interstate highways spanning 125 miles. Additionally, 430 miles of primary highway and 487 miles of secondary roadways are within the district's jurisdiction. In addition to patrol responsibilities, District Chicago Investigations is the largest investigative unit within the State Police and provides investigative services to both the district and local agencies.
