Church Governance

The Church is governed by the Congregation through a constitution and bylaws. The Church Council is the day-today governing body, and is made up of the Pastor, Moderator, Vice Moderator, Business Manager, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Clerk and a representative from the five boards who oversee specific areas of Church activity.

Board of Deacons

Responsible for worship, pulpit, supply, and music ministry.

Board of Christian Education

Responsible for Christian education programs for the children, youth and adults, including Sunday School.

Board of Stewardship and Missions

Responsible for the congregation’s stewardship program, benevolence designation, outreach ministry oversight and support.

Board of Trustees

Responsible for the upkeep and repair of the physical plant and janitorial maintenance. The chair of the board, through the business manager, approves all expenditures for repairs, utilities and other maintenance work. We are also looing for more handy people to help with the repair and maintenance of our building.

Board of Evangelism and Membership

Responsible for promoting evangelism, church membership, welcoming worshipers, follow-up with visitors and general activities to promote church growth.

Special committees operate under the direction of the Council

All items requiring Congregational action are handled at the annual meeting in January or in quarterly meetings as required.
