Cop Line

The Tinley Park Civil Service Commission will be conducting an examination to establish an Eligibility Register for the position of Telecommunicator A-1.

Position specifications and employment applications will be available Monday, February 10, 2003 thru Thursday, February 20, 2003 at the Village Clerk's Office, 16250 S. Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  NOTE:  THE VILLAGE HALL WILL BE CLOSED ON PRESIDENT'S DAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2003.

ALL APPLICATIONS AND FORMS MUST BE FILED WITH THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION AT THE VILLAGE CLERK'S OFFICE NO LATER THAN 1:00P.M. ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2003.  YOU MUST  HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE WITH THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION IN ORDER TO TAKE PART IN THE TESTING.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Pass computer literacy examination and written examination for placement on an Eligibility Register.  For appointment to a position, candidates must also successfully complete a thorough background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and physical examinations.

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

TESTING INFORMATION

  • The computer literacy examination will count for a maximum of 20 points of the total score.

  • The written examination score will count a maximum of 100 points of the total score.

  • The computer literacy score will be added to the written test score to determine placement on the Eligibility Register.

  • In case of tie scores, the date and time of filing your application will determine your position on the register.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Telecommunicators must reside in the Village of Tinley Park within one (1) year after date of employment.
